the basics - Grid Tie or Stand alone ?
Both systems have their merits though until recently the excessive cost of the grid tie inverter made small grid tie systems prohibitively priced. We are please to say that we can now offer complete grid tie systems from 1 KW upwards at prices not previously possible.
The grid tie system does away with the need for batteries which are inherently wasteful, using the National Grid as a huge battery, but because of Health & Safety issues such equipment must be highly sophisticated and sensitive. The system must be able to invert the DC output of the Turbine into AC power and synchronise that power with the sometimes fluctuating National Grid Power as well as having built in safety systems constantly monitoring the grid and automatically diverting any power being produced to a dump load system. Smaller Generators (sub 16Amp) are governed by Engineering Recomendation G83/1 and we are pleased to confim that all our Grid Tie Inverter Range is guaranteed to fully comply. Type Test Verification Certificate will be supplied wherever applicable.
Our systems can be easily self installed leaving only the final connection to your households circuit board, by a suitably qualified electrician.
The average household consumes approximately 4,700 Units of Electricity per Annum (according to BWEA) and we have therefore concentrated our efforts in developing a Turbine System capable of negating the average consumers annual electric costs. In conjunction with our Electrical Engineering Partners and the Turbine Manufacturer we have developed our 2KW Pioneer GTI, which is a brand new product development, with which we are already experiencing considerable interest and demand. The 2 KW Pioneer has a rated output of 2 KW and when operating at the Industry accepted standard efficiency of 33% should produce in excess of 5,718.60 Units Per Annum.
